The Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open returns to the PSA World Tour calendar for the first time since 2018.
The event will take place from 28th November to 4th December with play beginning at the Hong Kong Squash Centre, before moving to the (just next door) Hong Kong Park Sports Centre for the the quarter-finals onwards.
The men’s draw is topped by New Zealand’s Paul Coll – following the withdrawal of Ali Farag – who faces a tricky opening match in round two against Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez. Peru’s Diego Elias is seeded two, Mostafa Asal at three and 2018 champion Mohamed ElShorbagy – recent winner of the New Zealand and Singapore Opens – at number four.
In the women’s draw in-form Egyptian Nouran Gohar is top seed and will be looking to capture a second Hong Kong Open title after winning in 2016. World Champion Nour El Sherbini is the second seed, with Hania El Hammamy at three and Joelle King – lile ElShorbagy the 2018 HK and this year’s New Zealand and Singapore champion – at number four.
There’s plenty of home interest with nine Hong Kong players in action on the opening day, which features 32 Round One matches across four courts – including the refurbished all-Glass Centre Court.
We’ll cover what we can on the busy opening days, but you can follow the event on Live Scoring, watch Glass Court matches on Squash TV, and we’ll have results, photos and brief reports on our Social channels with a roundup at the end of the day.
Good to be back … you bet !!!
