World’s Best to feature at Ocean Park in December

Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2025 to feature world’s best players in new venue in December

Organized by the Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, title sponsored by Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2025 will be held from 1st to 7th December at Hong Kong Squash Centre and Ocean Park Entry Plaza.

The tournament is one of the Platinum events of PSA World Tour series. The Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2025 is proud of being an “M” Mark event that helps enhance the image of Hong Kong as Asia’s sports event capital. The “M” Mark awarded by the Major Sports Events Committee, symbolising intense, spectacular and signature event in the territory sports calendar.”

The total prize money of the tournament will be US$449,000 (HK$3.5 million), and it will feature 32 players in each of the Men’s and Women’s draws.

Most of the top 10 World-ranked Men’s and Women’s players have confirmed their participation, competing for the event title. Our local elite athletes — Lau Tsz Kwan Alex, Leung Chi Hin Henry, Ho Tze Lok Tomato, Lee Ka Yi, Tong Tsz Wing, and Chan Sin Yuk Simmi — will also represent the home team in this highly anticipated sporting event.

The Men’s World No.1, 2022 & 2024 Champion, Mostafa Asal from Egypt, and World No.2, Diego Elias from Peru, will be the top two seeds, while World No.3 & 2023 Champion, Paul Coll from New Zealand and World No.4, Joel Makin from Wales, will be seeded third and fourth. The home favourites, the World No.38 Lau Tsz Kwan Alex and No.51 Leung Chi Hin Henry, will participate with wildcard entries.

In the Women’s event, the top three seeds all come from Egypt, including World No.2, the 2022 & 2023 Champion Hania El Hammamy, the rising star, U19 player Amina Orfi, who recently climbed to World No.3, and the World No.4 & 2017 Champion Nour El Sherbini.

The American player, Olivia Weaver will be the fourth seed. Local players who ranked 31 and 33, Ho Tze Lok Tomato and Lee Ka Yi will also participate in this prestigious event, with their compatriots, World No.45 Tong Tsz Wing and No.62 Chan Sin Yuk Simmi, will join the tournament as wild cards.

The Honourable Duncan Chiu, Chairman of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China (SAHKC) attended the press conference along with the honourable guests including Mr. Jocson Co, Vice President of Milwaukee China and Asia Commercial Operations, Mr. Cedric Tyen, Honorary Secretary of SAHKC, Mr. Charles Andrew Ellis, Honorary Treasurer of SAHKC, Mrs. Heather Deayton, Executive Committee Member of SAHKC, Mr. Kenny Ip, Executive Committee Member of the SAHKC and other Gold sponsors representatives to give their supports and anticipation for the tournament.

Round 1 and Round 2 will take place at the Hong Kong Squash Centre in Admiralty, with a glass court first set up at Ocean Park Entry Plaza for Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Finals.
